Tecumseh Trail is a long-distance hiking trail in southern Indiana built by the Hoosier Hikers Council between 1998 and 2002. It begins at the headquarters of Morgan-Monroe State Forest, about 5 miles south of Martinsville, and runs south to a remote part of Brown County forest near Monroe Lake. Often seen as a gentler counterpart to Indiana’s Knobstone Trail, it still crosses many large hills, though with less steep, less sustained, and less frequent climbs. Because of that, it is commonly used by hikers training for tougher backpacking trips, even as limited camping, parking, and potable water require careful planning.
