E & A Railroad engineer Dallas McCoin stands in the cab of Number 100 after a late winter snow in March 1912. The locomotive is parked on the West Main Street crossing at Front Street, with the Gwyn-Foard House in the background. The railroad’s first engine, it was a Baldwin 2-8-0 and survives today at Camp Willow Run in Littleton, NC.
