Weepah Hills
Nature
The Weepah Hills are a mountain range in Esmeralda County, Nevada, with a highest point rising above 2,000 meters, or about 6,600 feet. Their name comes from a Shoshone word meaning “rainwater,” preserving a small but telling connection to the Indigenous language history of the region. The range is significant both as a physical landmark in western Nevada and as a place whose name reflects the enduring presence of Native peoples in the area.
