William Lanier Hunt Arboretum is a protected natural area in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, within the North Carolina Botanical Garden and operated by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Spanning more than 100 acres on Old Mason Farm Road, it was given by William Lanier Hunt in stages from the 1960s through the 1990s to preserve natural landscapes and conserve woody plants native to the southeastern United States. Unlike a public garden, it is not open to visitors. Its most distinctive features include rhododendron bluffs in a gorge along Morgan Creek, which help define the character of the site.
