David L. Danner was raised in Lemoyne and devoted his life to the West Shore community, mentoring and shaping young people for fulfilling, impactful roles in society. He taught at Mechanicsburg Junior High from 1959 to 1965, and from then until his retirement in 1996 he served the West Shore School District as a teacher, coach, principal, and student advisor. He also served as president of the West Shore Education Association and was very active in representing fellow teachers in contract negotiations. Energized and engaged, he cared deeply about people and believed his paramount goal was to educate, instruct, and live as an example to others in a quest to make a better world for all.
