Wrigley Field, on Chicago’s North Side, is one of Major League Baseball’s most famous parks and the home of the Chicago Cubs. Opened in 1914 as Weeghman Park for the Federal League’s Chicago Whales, it became the Cubs’ home in 1916 and was renamed Wrigley Field in 1927. It is the oldest park in the National League, the second-oldest in the majors after Fenway Park, and the only surviving Federal League stadium. Known for its ivy-covered walls, hand-turned scoreboard, red marquee, and wind off Lake Michigan, it also hosted the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cardinals and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2020.
