Crystal Canyon is a short canyon on the western slopes of the East Tintic Mountains in northeastern Juab County, Utah, at the northeast base of Sunrise Peak. Running northwest to southeast, it descends from the Juab-Utah county line to its mouth at the head of Diamond Gulch, just east of the ghost town of Diamond, with an unnamed intermittent stream along its course. Its name arose from crystal deposits once mistaken for diamonds. Although the find proved worthless, the episode reflects the mining-era hopes and mistaken discoveries that shaped the region’s local history.
