Construction of the 24 x 50 foot Katy Railroad Depot began on May 13, 1903. The wooden depot stood on timber pilings with a red tin roof and jutted onto Main Street to allow a good view of the town. Grain elevators and cotton gins sprang up south of the tracks, with a stock yard to the east. In 1988, the old depot was moved to Discoveryland.
