The Wyoming Dinosaur Center in East Thermopolis, Wyoming, combines a dinosaur museum with nearby active excavation sites on Warm Springs Ranch, allowing visitors to see both mounted skeletons and working quarries. Its best-known exhibit is the Thermopolis Specimen of Archaeopteryx, one of only two real specimens of that genus on public display outside Europe. The galleries contain more than 50 mounted skeletons and a 106-foot Supersaurus replica. Ranch quarries have produced more than 10,000 bones, including tracks and remains that illuminate a Late Jurassic landscape dominated by Apatosaurus, Camarasaurus, Diplodocus, and Allosaurus. The center also serves as a year-round paleontological laboratory and educational site.
