Gill Drug Company grew from the consolidation of Jordan Drug Store and Wilson Drug Company. Jordan Drug Store was established in 1900 on the northeast corner of Broad and Oglethorpe Streets. In 1932, Clark Gill and Paul Gill purchased the business from Mr. E. Roney Jordan and Dr. John Randolph Jordan Sr., who asked that they retain the Jordan name. In 1935, Clark sold his interest to Paul, who then purchased Wilson Drug Company in 1961 and combined the two pharmacies in the Wilson storefront, the present location of Gill Drug Company. That store had originally been Bridges and Dixon Druggist. At one time it was Bridges and Hogg's Drug Store. Then Dr. Benjamin Lindslay Bridges and Dr. Thomas Watson Wilson operated the Bridges and Wilson Drug Store until Dr. Wilson bought out Dr. Bridges and renamed it Wilson Drug Company. For a few years, the store was the Wilson-Sullins Drug Company.
