During the Korean War, from 25 June 1950 to 27 July 1953, alumni of Marion Military Institute who lost their lives included Bruce Beveridge, Jr., Edward S. Guthrie, Frank B. Howze, and William B. Slade. Their sacrifice is framed by the ideals of truth, honor, and service, and by the sentiment, “When you go home, tell them of us and say, for their tomorrow we gave our today.”
