Perry Oldenburg Wildlife and Environmental Area is a 380-acre preserve on the Brooksville Ridge northeast of Brooksville, Florida, managed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and named for biologist Perry W. Oldenburg, who died in 1991. Once part of an Audubon Society wildlife sanctuary, it protects sandhill and hardwood hammock habitat. A 1.5-mile trail passes through the area, where gopher tortoises, American kestrels, eastern bluebirds, hawks, woodpeckers, and butterflies can be seen. The property is crossed by a powerline right-of-way, and restoration has included Waynesburg University students improving the trail and removing invasive species.
