Fair Hill Burial Ground
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
History
Fair Hill Burial Ground stands on land William Penn gave to George Fox in 1681 and that Fox willed in 1690 to Friends for a meeting house, school house, burying place, children's playground, and garden. Lucretia Mott, feminist and abolitionist, is buried here, as is Robert Purvis, businessman and abolitionist. Philadelphia Quakers are working with this community to make this possible.
