This community dedicated a memorial in 1919 to those who served the country in the World War, giving thanks to God for victory. In 1954, it honored sons who died defending America's eternal freedoms in World War II: L. Ballin, J. Bolay, O. Burmeister, L. Felder, L. Guhn, J. Hrabel, Jr., J. Boomer, D. Buchman, L. Cochran, G. Hemminger, and R. Schmunk, with the presentation made by the Salem Twp. Trustees on Sept. 27, 1954. In 1985, it was also dedicated in memory of all veterans who served their country.
