Mark A. Behlmann was born, raised, and remained a lifelong resident of Florissant. He was president of Marcal General Contractors, formed in 1969 and co-owned with his brother Al. He was married to Louise Viehmann for 63 years and raised two sons. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers and was a member of St. Ferdinand Church, the STL Home Builders Association, the Chamber, and the Carpenters Union. He loved his community and family. As brothers and partners, Mark and Al shared a unique bond of devotedness, and Mark passed away 6 days after Albert.
