West Peak is a named 9,659-foot summit in the Highland Mountains of southwestern Montana within the Deerlodge National Forest, rising just west of Table Mountain. Its significance lies not only in its prominence within this forested range but also in its role in regional drainage: the mountain’s southeast face feeds the headwaters of Hell's Canyon Creek, an important tributary of the Jefferson River. Through that connection, West Peak forms part of the upper watershed of one of the region’s main rivers, tying this high mountain landscape to the broader Jefferson drainage below.
