Squire Thomas Cheyney was a farmer, patriot, and public servant who was born and lived at this homestead his entire life. During the Battle of the Brandywine, he warned Gen. Washington of a British flanking movement. As a delegate to Pennsylvania’s 1787 convention, he voted to ratify the U.S. Constitution and served 25 years as a Justice of the Peace.
