On July 26, 1936, at the age of six, Warren and Champion Township resident Neil Armstrong took his first flight in a Ford Tri-motor airplane from Warren Airways on this exact site, sparking his love of aviation. Thirty-three years later, on July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong made his first flight in the Apollo 11 module and became the first man to walk on the moon, declaring, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
