Indiana State Parks honor a century of conservation and outdoor recreation, celebrating unique and cherished places where future generations can experience nature and history. Spring Mill was established in 1927. Richard Lieber, founder of the Indiana State Parks in 1916, expressed hope that this small beginning would lay the foundation for a comprehensive system of state parks that would stand forever as a token of the past and bring health, wealth, and happiness to his own generation and the many that would come after.
