Flat Rock Brook Nature Center is a 150-acre preserve and education center on the western slope of the Palisades in Englewood, New Jersey, protecting one of the last remaining pieces of Palisades Forest within an urban area. Established in 1973 by local citizens devoted to conservation and environmental education, it is managed to preserve habitat for plant and animal life while allowing quiet public use. Its 3.6 miles of self-guiding trails pass through woodland, streams, wetlands, ponds, wildflower meadows, and quarry cliffs. The preserve supports trail walks, nature study, passive recreation, and environmental education programs for all ages.
