During his tenure at Liberty Center, Coach Rex Lingruen's teams won six NWOAL League championships, made seventeen OHSAA playoff appearances, reached the state semifinals six times, advanced to the state title game three times, won the OHSAA Division V state championship in 1997, and in 2018 he was inducted into the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
