An interdenominational Sunday School class begun by Mrs. Fannie Donavan grew into Scott's Station Methodist Church, with Rev. Joseph Nicholson as first pastor. Henry Ware gave land for the first church in 1879, and it remained the community's only Protestant church until 1890. A revival conducted by Rev. J. L. Sells in 1904 doubled membership, and a second building erected that year served as the sanctuary until 1950. The Mary Abarr Sunday School building was erected in 1928. The Women's Missionary Society gave $2000 as seed money for a third sanctuary completed in 1950. The H. J. Moore Educational Building was erected in 1963, and the present sanctuary was dedicated in Nov. 1987.
