Anna Ruby Falls, in the Chattahoochee National Forest near Helen, Georgia, is a twin waterfall where Curtis Creek and York Creek descend separately before joining at the base to form Smith Creek, which flows into Unicoi Lake. Reached through Unicoi State Park by a paved half-mile National Recreation Trail, it is among the best-known and most visited waterfall destinations in north Georgia. Both streams rise on Tray Mountain, giving the falls steep, cold headwaters. Named for Anna Ruby Nichols, daughter of an early settler, the surrounding scenic area encompasses about 1,600 acres and is managed within the national forest.
