The site was home to the Ogden Evangelical Church, begun in 1868. In 1957 it became the Ogden Evangelical United Brethren Church through a union of the Evangelical Church and the United Brethren in Christ Church, which had been started in 1896 on Pence Highway. In 1968 it became the Ogden United Methodist Church through a union of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Methodist Church.
