Pawcutuck, Connecticut, developed a rich manufacturing history in which local shipbuilding, printing press work, and textile manufacturing built multiple mills to take advantage of the powerful Pawcatuck River and its easy connectivity to the sea's shipping routes as well as railroad transportation and distribution routes.
