The Village Hall was built in 1910 at the insistence of local women who lobbied for a public meeting place. The fire department, library, and jail were located on the first floor, while the village offices and meeting rooms were on the top floor. The fire bell originally housed in the cupola was later relocated to the current firehouse on Hamilton Street.
