Weinberg-King State Park is a 772-acre Illinois park near Augusta in Schuyler County that blends recreation with wildlife habitat. Managed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, it includes ponds, streams, open land, and nearly 30 miles of trails. Its landscape lies along the western edge of glacial till left by the Illinois Glaciation, where erosion by streams such as Williams Creek has exposed Pennsylvanian sandstone. The present park grew from a 500-acre tract donated to Illinois in 1968 by the Weinberg-King family. Today it supports fishing, hunting, and habitat for species including bass, bluegill, catfish, quail, woodcock, white-tailed deer, and wild turkey.
