An icon to baseball fans in Wisconsin, Robin Yount spent his entire twenty-year career with the Brewers. He produced more hits than any other Major Leaguer during the 1980s and finished his career with a franchise-best 3,142 hits. A two-time A.L. MVP winner in 1982 and 1989, he became the third player in MLB history to win the award at separate positions, shortstop and outfield. He retired as the franchise's all-time leader in home runs, hits, and runs. He led the Brewers to the 1982 World Series, where he batted .414 and became the first player ever to collect four hits in two separate World Series games. His number 19 jersey was retired by the Brewers in 1994, and he was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999.
