The Purple Heart is dedicated to all men and women wounded in all American wars. The Military Order of the Purple Heart is associated with 1782 and 1932. It is evoked as red for the blood they shed, and as a medal their country bears to show it cares, with the hope that if its meaning could be seen by all mankind, peace might come in a lifetime.
