C. S. Cleburne's brigade of Hardee's Corps, Army of the Mississippi, included the 15th Arkansas skirmishers, Bates's 2d Tennessee, 24th Tennessee, Hill's 5th Tennessee, 6th Mississippi, 23d Tennessee, and Calvert's, Trigg's, and Hubbard's Arkansas Batteries. With its regiments arranged from left to right in that order and its batteries in the rear, the brigade bivouacked at this place on Saturday night, April 5, 1862. It advanced Sunday morning at 6.30 and became engaged at Shiloh Branch.
