Rebecca Kellogg Ashley, known as "Wausaunia," was born on Dec. 22, 1695, in Suffield, Mass., and died in Aug 1757 in Windsor N.Y. She served as an interpreter for the Indians at the "Old Fort," a mission station in charge of Rev. Gideon Hawley in 1748.
