Virginia Peak is a 10,141-foot mountain in western Wyoming's Salt River Range within Bridger–Teton National Forest, about 19 miles south-southeast of Alpine. Rising above the Greys River drainage, it has especially steep relief, with the summit standing roughly 3,700 feet above the river within about two miles. That abrupt rise gives the mountain an outsized visual presence despite its moderate elevation compared with higher Rocky Mountain summits. Its name has been officially recognized by the United States Board on Geographic Names. Virginia Peak lies in an alpine subarctic climate, with long, cold, snowy winters and cool to warm summers when thunderstorms are common.
