Marine Lance Corporal Aaron Reed of 3rd Battalion Marine Reserve Lima Company was killed in action in Haditha, Iraq, on August 3, 2005, at the age of 21 years 11 months, one of 14 Marines killed in a convoy when his amphibious assault vehicle was hit by an explosive device. He graduated from Southeastern High School, where he served as senior class president, and he was raised on the family farm on Ault Road in Harrison Township, Ohio. In a letter to his mother, Sara, he wrote, "Think of me when you're sad and know that I would have wanted you to smile."
