Rogerson Clematis Garden at Luscher Farm Park near Lake Oswego, Oregon, is a one-acre botanical garden built around one of the world’s best-known clematis collections, with more than 2,000 plants representing nearly 900 species and cultivars. It grew from Brewster Rogerson’s private collecting, which began in 1971 and expanded through decades of work introducing clematis to North American gardeners and advancing knowledge of the genus. After his collection outgrew its nursery home, supporters partnered with the City of Lake Oswego to establish a permanent public garden in 2005. Today it is North America’s only accredited clematis collection and the nation’s largest comprehensive public-park collection.
