Winnemucca Mountain rises near the small city of Winnemucca in northern Nevada as the southernmost named summit of the Santa Rosa Range, marking the range’s lower end above the surrounding high desert. A paved road reaches radio facilities on the summit, giving the mountain a practical role in local communications as well as a prominent presence above the town. On June 15, 2025, a human-caused wildfire burned 2,321 acres, or 939 hectares, on the mountain and affected one structure.
