Turkey Swamp Park in Freehold Township, New Jersey, is a 2,388-acre county park and nature preserve on the northern edge of the Pine Barrens, notable for sitting on a major drainage divide whose headwaters feed several river systems. Its name comes from the older local name of Turkey, now Adelphia, while its wet low spots reflect sandy soil and a shallow water table rather than a true swamp. Built in stages from land bought in 1963 and expanded in the 1970s and 1993, it combines forest preservation, watershed protection, and public recreation, including a lake, trails, camping, boating, and the former Camp Nomoco.
