The M601A Tank was manufactured by Chrysler Detroit Tank Plant in Michigan in the 1960s. The M60 became the US Army's first generation main battle tank, and the M601A introduced improved suspension and armor protection in a new turret design. Its armament included one 105 mm gun M68, one 9.5-inch AA machine gun, and one 7.62 mm machine gun. It was powered by an AVDS-1790 diesel engine with 750 horsepower, had a speed of 30 mph, a range of 312 miles, a crew of 4, and a weight of 49 tons.
