Van Buren Hotel & Fassett House

On this site, in 1832, Harmon and Marinda Van Buren built a log house that developed into a hotel, bar, courthouse, and town hall. The Van Burens later replaced the house with a substantial hotel that was destroyed by fire in 1867. In 1871, Isaac W. Fassett built the Fassett House, which offered housing and entertainment until its demise in 2005.
