Deep Creek Preserve is an 8,040-acre conservation area in Volusia County, Florida, created in 2010 from the former Leffler Ranch and later expanded with an additional parcel in 2011. Owned by Volusia County and the St. Johns River Water Management District, it protects open land while supporting regional water-supply efforts. The preserve lies within a major wildlife corridor connecting south Florida’s Everglades to the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, helping sustain habitat connectivity across a large part of the state. Water quality in Deep Creek is monitored here, and the preserve also allows low-impact recreation such as hiking, biking, and horseback riding.
