Mount Nutt Wilderness is a protected area in the central Black Mountains of Arizona, established in 1990 by the Arizona Desert Wilderness Act and managed by the Bureau of Land Management. Named for Mount Nutt, which rises to 5,216 feet, it preserves a rugged desert landscape of steep mesas, narrow canyons, and volcanic plugs. Though arid, several springs support pockets of cottonwoods, willows, and oak, and provide water for a small population of desert bighorn sheep. The wilderness also includes trails such as the Cave Spring Trail and the Twin Springs Trail.
