Van Sickle Bi-State Park is a public recreation area on the California-Nevada border above Lake Tahoe that joins open space, historic ranch features, and trail connections across both states. It preserves the legacy of Henry Van Sickle, an early Genoa-area developer who arrived in 1852, built several businesses, and served as the first toll officer on the Kingsbury grade toll road. Later, Jack and Beth Van Sickle ran Stateline Stables on the property, making it a longtime center of horses, rodeos, and outdoor recreation. Land donations and acquisitions created the park, which opened in 2011 and is now valued for its layered ranching, tourism, and recreation history.
