The American's Creed declares belief in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people, whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; and a perfect union, one and inseparable, established upon principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrifice their lives and fortunes. It further declares a duty to love the country, support its Constitution, obey its laws, respect its flag, and defend it against all enemies. The creed is attributed to William Tyler Page and is presented in memory of those who have honorably served the United States of America.
