The park has three main trails whose routes and themes connect to Abraham Lincoln’s life and early surroundings. The Trail of Twelve Stones retraces stages of his life with stones from places that were part of it, each associated with its own origin and connection to Lincoln, and this trail forms part of a loop that includes the Lincoln Boyhood Trail. The Boyhood Nature Trail evokes the time when Indiana was a wilderness and home to seven-year-old Abraham in 1816, branching off from the Trail of Twelve Stones as a one-mile loop.
