Secrest Jewelry Co. occupied the building from 1916 to 2000 after it had housed the Dixie Theater from 1914 to 1915. Ownership of the property passed from Joe Mangum and heirs from 1914 to 1951, to the Bracken family from 1951 to 1972, to Scott and Anne Richardson from 1972 to 1997, and to Gayla Sykes and Pam Richardson from 1997 to 2000. The building was designated a Landmark Building in 2000.
