Lost Trail Powder Mountain is an alpine ski area in the Bitterroot Range at Lost Trail Pass, uniquely split between Montana and Idaho on the Continental Divide. Its base area sits in Montana at 7,000 feet, while parts of the mountain and lift-served terrain extend into Idaho, reaching the 8,200-foot summit of Saddle Mountain with 1,800 feet of vertical drop. Open to skiers and snowboarders, it features groomed, freestyle, and natural terrain. Its current layout emerged through expansions in 2002 and 2003. The area is also remembered for a fatal 2014 plane crash into its parking lot during a late spring snow squall.
