The Confederate soldiers of Sampson County were honored as men who bore the flag of a nation's trust and fell in a cause though lost, still just, and died for me and you during 1861-1865. The Ashford-Sillers Chapter of the U.D.C. is associated with this tribute, dated May 10, 1916.
