Originally a one-room school building seven miles southeast of Oskaloosa and one-half mile south of the intersection of Republic and 54th, the Tibbott School Building, District No. 54, was built in 1903 at 28 by 44 feet, moved to Oskaloosa in 1950 for use as part of the city's elementary grade school complex for grades 1 through 4, and moved again in 1975 to Old Jefferson Town, where it is used as a museum of early Jefferson County items.
