The Little Outfit School opened in 1940 under Katharine (Pete) and Buel Hutchinson and exemplified the ranch schools for which Arizona became famous, providing excellent academics, experience in the ideals of the West, and a love of healthy outdoor activity. This one-room schoolhouse was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in January 2009.
