George E. Ingersol was the first Fair Haven veteran to die in World War I. The Fair Haven Post #658 was chartered in January of 1922 and named after him in recognition of his ultimate sacrifice. His memory stands with those of all who offered their lives so that justice, freedom, and democracy might survive, and with the men and women who have served in all the country's conflicts.
