West Bend Recreation Area is a South Dakota state recreation area in Hughes County along the shore of Lake Sharpe, a Missouri River reservoir. Protected as parkland focused on access to the lakeshore and surrounding open landscape, it is open year-round for outdoor recreation. Camping is one of its principal uses, and the area also accommodates horseback riding, biking, hiking, and cross-country skiing. Its mix of warm- and cold-weather activities makes it a recreation destination used in every season.
